OPERATION BREAKTHROUGH

Operation Breakthrough is a local charity set up 20 years ago and run by current and former police officers who use sport as a medium to help at-risk youngsters. There are a total of 10 different sports sections, of which rugby is one of the largest. The programme has proved a success on and off the sports field, with 15 Breakthrough graduates having gone on to become police officers while a number have gone on to national representative honours, including one full Hong Kong international.  Breakthrough has been supported by the global Laureus Sport for Good Foundation since 2005, and is sponsored by Standard Chartered Bank.
