December 2014, following the success of the newly christened Hong Kong Corporate Sevens (the year before) and the amazing support resulting in a donation of HK$1.2 million to the Po Leung Kuk to build a multi-surface sports pitch, another project was adopted.

This time we joined forces to raise funds for the Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children. Founded in 1926 and committed to nurturing children in their early childhood, the HKSPC operates 27 service units including day crèches, nursery schools, children’s residential home, children and family service centres.

 

The Hong Kong Corporate Sevens committee worked closely with the HKSPC Board to develop and design a fitness programme to educate parents and teachers about the benefits of exercise in young children.

Named “Fun Fun Healthy Exercise For Young Children”

 

A cheque for HK$500,000 was handed over to Ms. Susan So, Director HKSPC to enable the programme to become a reality.

 

“Fun Fun Healthy Exercise For Young Children” was launched starting with class seminars for ‘trainers’ who then held classes for the parents. Exercise / sports classes have already begun for hundreds of children under the care of the HKSPC.
